With only two months to go until the wedding, last week was my final wedding dress fitting and the day I was able to take it home. My mum had the very heavy and stressful job of taking it home with her, after making her way to London for the day so she could be with me to pick it up. My aunties came too, excited to get a peek of The Dress before the W-Day. And I was really excited to be invited along to Reform Social & Grill for Afternoon Tea, so decided to make a day of it and take my mum and her sisters for Afternoon Tea in London too!
Arriving at the very swanky Mandeville Hotel in Marylebone, we waited for our table while eyeing up the very pretty crockery. There are so many places for Afternoon Tea in London, but as soon as we got there I was really excited about this one! Sat at our table with a peach Bellini in hand (it comes with the tea choice…I know!), we perused the menu and decided between the Vintage Afternoon Tea or the Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea. Both sound equally delicious, but as I’m vegetarian the vintage option was the better choice.
A few sips into the Bellini, I was already feeling a bit giggly – oops! We were offered the free-flowing champagne (which is an extra added onto your tea price) but as we had appointments to get to, we weren’t able to say yes. Next time I go though, I’m definitely accepting several glasses of champagne!
We all chose the Vintage Afternoon Tea option and were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. In fact, there was a little miscount with our order so they brought out another stand a bit later, but we were already so full we almost didn’t finish it all. I’m going to blame that on the Bellini! The cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches on basil bread were so delicious, as were the scones with jam and clotted cream. If I could have Afternoon Tea in London every day, I’d ask for those sandwiches and scones over and over.
A really great experience of Afternoon Tea in London, the hosts at Reform Social & Grill were very friendly and helpful with our many, many questions about the menu! From their happy faces and giggles after the Bellinis, I could tell my mum and aunties enjoyed it there too.
*This post was made possible by Reform Social & Grill as I received a complimentary Vintage Afternoon Tea,
but all opinions are my own.
